Everything has started from passion.

Passion and determination have always driven Giovanni Celeste’s life choices.

Giovanni Celeste decided not to capitalise his bachelor degree in law to follow what he believed in: creating and fashioning the leather to craft unique and precious products.

Since he was a child he showed a strong aesthetic understanding for the braiding art in particular.

“My first teacher was my mother who taught me how to plait a simple 3 strips braid. Starting from that moment I kept practising, practising and practising again, but the results were far from what I was looking for.

The big issue was the big lack of information, of detailed images, manuals and any kind of explanations related to the art of plait braided products in particular the plaited leather whips…

On the other hand I knew by heart all the movies where all kinds of whips were present (western, epic, fantasy…): this was the only way for me to watch braided and plastic objects.

After this period that I consider my ‘Middle Ages’, the ‘Renaissance’ finally arrived: the advent of Internet.

I still fondly remember all the time I spent in searching images and any kind of information surfing in Altavista. Thanks to that, I was able to know and esteem the great Italian, Argentinean and Australian Maestros.

Each of them has a different and peculiar plaiting procedure. I melt all of them into my personal braiding style.’
